How we grade them
| 2.6GPABrevoGood | 2.4GPAEnchargeFair | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | BStarter is $9 a month for 5,000 emails, inside the cheaper quarter of email tools, and from 20,000 emails the contact cap jumps to 500,000. Automations and A/B tests need Standard at $18, and taking the Brevo logo off Starter is $12 a month more. | CNo price on record, as Encharge's pricing page turned automated readers away. What we do know is that Growth and Premium are priced by subscribers, and crossing a tier moves you up automatically at the next bill. |
| Free plan and trial | CFree for good with no card: 300 emails a day, campaigns and transactional email by API. Once your list passes 300 people, though, a single newsletter can't all go out on the same day. | CNo free plan, but there's a 14-day trial for up to 1,000 subscribers with no card needed. Long enough to connect Stripe and switch on an onboarding flow. |
| Features | BCampaigns, transactional email, automations, SMS, segments, forms, AI writing and a sales CRM, all from one contact list. That covers the whole job and then some. WhatsApp, popups and push wait for the $499 Professional plan. | BVisual flows triggered by sign-ups, segments, events and billing, segments on tracked behavior, newsletters in drag-and-drop or text builders, companies and custom objects, and transactional email through an API. That's the whole job. |
| Ease of use | CNo App Store rating on record. It's a big web app with campaigns, automations, a CRM and SMS in it, so you'll be setting things up before it earns its keep. | CNo App Store rating on record and no phone app. The flows only come alive once your product is sending events and your billing tool is connected, and that setup is real work. |
| Platforms and integrations | BWeb only, with Shopify, WordPress, Stripe, Zapier, ChatGPT and Claude connections and an API. No desktop or phone app is listed. | BWeb only, with Stripe, Chargebee, Paddle, HubSpot, Salesforce, Segment, Facebook Ads and Zapier, plus an API. No desktop or phone app keeps it at a B. |
| Best for | big lists you only email now and then | behavior-based emails for SaaS companies |
