Who each one suits

Fantastical

  • People with Google, iCloud and Microsoft calendars who want them in one app
  • Adding events quickly by typing a sentence
  • Households sharing one subscription across up to 5 members

Timepage

  • People who use only Apple devices and want a calendar across all of them
  • Seeing weather and travel time next to the day's events
  • Households sharing one Family Bundle of calendar, to-do and notebook apps

Worth knowing

Fantastical

  • No Android app or web version is listed; it runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro.
  • The free version allows 1 invitee per event, 1 calendar set and a 3-day weather forecast.
  • Apple Watch support, push sync, travel time, templates and conference-call detection all need Flexibits Premium.
  • Single sign-on and Openings with multiple hosts are limited to the Team plan.

Timepage

  • Apple platforms only: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. No Android, Windows or web version is listed.
  • A membership is required after the 7-day trial; once it lapses the app stays readable but becomes read-only and loses weather features.
  • Bonobo sets prices per country by purchasing power parity, so the US App Store prices shown here differ in other regions.
  • Tasks come from the separate Actions app, which needs its own membership or the Bundle.

Key features

Fantastical

Natural-language event entry
Create events and tasks by typing a plain-language sentence instead of filling in a form field by field.
Day, week, month, quarter and year views
Full-screen views at every scale plus the DayTicker strip, all included in the free version.
Tasks next to events
Tasks from iCloud Reminders, Todoist and Google Tasks appear alongside calendar events on both free and paid tiers.
Openings and Proposals
Premium adds Openings, which let others book a slot from your availability, and Proposals, which poll invitees on meeting times.
Conference call detection
Premium detects Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex links in events and adds a single-click Join button.
Calendar sets
Group calendars into sets. Free allows 1 set; Premium allows unlimited sets, syncs them and can switch sets automatically by time or location.

Timepage

Timeline and month heatmap
A scrolling timeline shows the week ahead and beyond, and a month heatmap lights up busy days so free days stand out at a glance.
Week, day and month views
Timepage 5, released in April 2026, added week, day and month views. In the week view an event is created with a tap and drag.
Weather and travel time
Each day shows temperature and rainfall forecasts, and events get travel time estimates for walking, cycling, driving or public transport.
Uses your existing calendars
It works with calendars already on the device, such as iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, Yahoo and CalDAV. Bonobo says calendar data is not stored on its servers.
Themes and widgets
There are 60 color themes for the app, its widgets and its icon, plus home screen widgets for weather and events and Apple Watch complications.
Tasks from Actions
Scheduled tasks from Bonobo's Actions to-do app appear in the Timepage calendar next to events. Actions is a separate app covered by the Bundle.
