|---|---|---|
| Value for money | CTime Premium is a $20 monthly base fee plus $10 a user, so even a tiny crew pays well over the usual rate. Elite is $40 plus $12 a user. You need a QuickBooks Online account as well. New subscriptions get 50% off the base fee for 3 months. | AStarter is $3.99 a user a month billed annually, or $5.49 month-to-month, and it already has invoicing, attendance and time off. That's well under what time trackers usually charge. Even Ultimate is $9.99. The AI Time Tracker is extra, billed by token usage. |
| Free plan and trial | CNo free plan. New subscriptions get a 30-day free trial with no credit card, and that's the only way to see it without paying. | AFree forever with unlimited users and unlimited projects, plus timesheets and the web, desktop and mobile apps. A whole team could stay here. What you don't get is integrations, invoicing or attendance. |
| Features | AClock in and out from the Workforce app with GPS points recorded, a shared kiosk for on-site teams, schedules by job or shift, time off, and hours that sync to payroll and invoicing. Mileage, project tracking and timesheet signatures are Elite only. | ALog time with a timer, manual entries or a weekly timesheet, or let the desktop app track by itself. Then there's attendance, time off and overtime, invoicing, budgets with alerts, more than 10 reports and, on Ultimate, approvals, expenses and screenshots. That's the whole job. |
| Ease of use | BWe have no App Store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. Staff clock in from a phone, a browser or a kiosk, and nobody retypes hours into payroll. It does assume you're already set up in QuickBooks Online. | BWe have no App Store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. There are three ways to log time, so most people will find one that suits. Working out which plan holds which feature takes longer. |
| Platforms and integrations | AWeb, iPhone, iPad and Android, plus a kiosk that runs on a tablet, desktop or laptop. Intuit says it works with more than 50 accounting and payroll apps. No Mac or Windows desktop app is listed, so computers use a browser. | AWeb, Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android and a browser extension, with Trello, Asana, ClickUp, Jira, GitHub, QuickBooks and Xero on the list. Integrations are rationed, though: none on Free or Starter, one on Premium, unlimited on Ultimate. |
