Value for money
AJorte Plus is $3.99 a year. Not a month, a year. That turns the ads off and adds up to 100 extra calendars, a passcode lock and Outlook sync. Premium is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year on Android, mostly for unlimited themes and icons.
BPremium is $4.49 a month or $44.99 a year, about typical for a calendar app. It takes the ads away and adds file attachments, an hour-by-hour view of up to 3 days and event priority. The first month is free on both.
Free plan and trial
AThe free app has the calendar views, to-do lists, diary, event calendars, widgets and the links to Google Calendar and the iOS calendar. Most people could stay on it. You do put up with ads, and extra calendars and the passcode lock are paid.
AShared calendars, chat and photos inside events, memos and to-do lists are all free, and you can keep as many calendars as you need. Most families could stay here for good. You do put up with ads.
Features
BMonth, week, day and vertical views, to-dos that sync with Google Tasks, a diary with photos, and widgets in 25 sizes. Plenty. But Outlook sync covers Office 365 calendars only, not Outlook.com or Exchange, and theme packs cost extra unless you have Premium.
AA calendar per group, a conversation inside every event, shared memos and to-do lists, and filters to see family, school and hobbies together or apart. It's built for shared planning and covers it fully. File attachments are Premium.
Ease of use
BIt's a phone app laid out like a paper organizer, so the views will look familiar from day one. We have no App Store rating on record to show how people get on with it, so it stops at a B.
A4.9 from about 92,000 App Store ratings. Make a calendar, invite people, and everyone sees the same schedule. You can copy in events from the calendars already on your phone to get going.
Platforms and integrations
AiPhone, iPad and Android, plus the free Jorte PF web service for your computer. It links to Google Calendar, the iOS calendar, Google Tasks, Outlook and Evernote. There's no desktop app, so on a computer it's the browser.
AiPhone, Android and the web, plus Apple Watch, and it syncs with the other calendars on your device, such as Google Calendar. On a computer you use the web version, as there's no desktop app.

Monthly, weekly, daily and vertical views modeled on paper organizers. The week can start on any day, and lunar dates and public holidays can be shown.
To-do lists and diary
To-do lists sit beside the calendar and can sync with Google Tasks. The diary records text and photos for each day and organizes entries with tags.

Background images, icons, fonts and colors can all be changed, and purchased theme sets restyle the whole app at once while keeping your schedule.
Event calendars
Follow ready-made calendars such as weekly weather forecasts, national holidays, NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL games and religious calendars, and their events are added automatically.
Jorte PF cloud service
A free service that stores calendars and to-dos in the cloud so they can be viewed and edited from a computer, shared within a group or published.
Widgets and schedule sharing
Home screen widgets come in 25 sizes with adjustable content. An appointment can be turned into a URL and sent by email or messaging apps for others to add.

Memos and to-do lists
Share notes and lists with the members of a calendar, or keep a memo for a plan that has no fixed date yet.
Filters across calendars
View your own plans, family schedules and other calendars together in one view, or use filters to switch between them.
