Worth knowing

  • Personal accounts and Business Starter get one booking page; extra schedules, payments and reminders need Business Standard or higher, or an eligible Google One plan.
  • Time Insights and working hours and location are limited to work or school accounts, and Time Insights can only be viewed on a computer.
  • No desktop app is listed; Google offers it on the web and as Android and iOS apps.

Teamup

  • The Free plan stops at 5 users, 5 sub-calendars and 1 year of historical data.
  • Prices are per master calendar and each tier caps users: 12 on Plus, 25 on Pro, 50 on Business and 100 on Enterprise.
  • Single sign-on needs an organization account, which starts at US$1,200 per year.
  • Calendars are created and configured in a web browser; the iOS and Android apps provide mobile access to them.

Key features

Google Calendar

Appointment booking pages
Publish a page where others pick a time on your calendar. Eligible paid plans allow several schedules, Stripe payments, email verification and up to 20 co-hosts.
Shared and layered calendars
Create calendars shared with a team or a whole organization, and view several calendars together, color-coded by category.
Scheduling from Gmail with Gemini
On Workspace plans, Gemini in Gmail can suggest meeting times and add events detected in an email with one click.
Google Meet and attachments
Events can carry a Google Meet video link and attached files, so the call and its documents open from the invitation.
Time Insights and working location
Work and school accounts can see how much time goes to meetings and who they meet most, and can share working hours and location.
Tasks on the calendar
Items from Google Tasks appear on the calendar next to events.

Teamup

Sub-calendars and folders
A master calendar is split into color-coded sub-calendars that can be grouped into folders, and one event can be assigned to several sub-calendars.
12 calendar views
The same events can be shown in 12 views, among them Timeline, Scheduler, Table and Year, alongside the usual day, week and month layouts.
Nine permission levels
The calendar administrator sets one of 9 access levels for each user or group, and event details can be hidden from read-only users.
Sharing without accounts
A calendar can be shared through links that need no user account, and any single event can be published as a stand-alone web page.
Custom event fields
Events can carry custom text, choice and number fields: 1 on Free and Plus, up to 10 on Pro, 20 on Business and 50 on Enterprise.
iCalendar feeds and API
Inbound .ics feeds pull in other calendars, refreshed every 12 hours on Free and every 5 minutes on Enterprise. An API is documented for developers.
