How we grade them
| 3.6GPAAny.doExcellent | 3.2GPATo Do List - Reminders & TasksVery good | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | BPremium is $4.99 a month billed annually, about the going rate for a paid to-do app. Teams costs the same per member and Family is $8.33 a month for 4 people. Pay month by month and Premium jumps to $7.99. | APremium is $19.99 a year, well under the $3.99 a month a typical to-do app charges, or $29.99 once for lifetime access. Monthly is $2.99. A purchase on one device also applies on the others under the same Apple Account. |
| Free plan and trial | BThe Personal plan is free for good, with tasks, lists, reminders, the calendar, the daily planner and sync. But recurring tasks, colour tags and location reminders are left out, and a to-do list without repeats gets tight fast. | BFree with no ads, no tracking and no sign-up: lists, reminders, a calendar view, widgets and custom colours and icons. But there's no sync between devices, no notes on a reminder and no repeating reminders until you pay. |
| Features | ATasks and calendar events side by side, a planner that asks what you'll get done today, and tasks made inside WhatsApp. Families get a grocery list grouped by aisle. Teams get boards with kanban, table and Gantt views, automations and 100+ templates. | BColour-coded lists, a calendar where you drag a reminder to a new date, widgets with a What's Next view, and Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts. Solid basics. But a sent list is a one-off copy that isn't kept in sync, and its due dates and notes aren't sent along. |
| Ease of use | A4.6 from about 50,500 App Store ratings. The personal app is lists, reminders and a calendar in one place, kept in step between phone, desktop and web. | A4.7 from about 3,200 App Store ratings. There's no sign-up, and changing a due date is a drag across the calendar. |
| Platforms and integrations | AWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and a browser extension. It connects to WhatsApp, Google Calendar, Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Zapier. No Linux app is listed. | CiPhone, iPad and Mac, with iCloud, Siri and Apple Shortcuts. That's one family of devices. The App Store lists no Android, Windows or web version, and Siri only handles tasks in English. |
| Best for | tasks, calendar and WhatsApp reminders in one app | a plain reminder list with a calendar view |
