Our top three

The three daily planner apps we'd look at first. First place suits the most people; second and third are the best picks for the people it leaves out. Each has an Insider's Guide of its own.
1st
3.0GPAStructured
Free plan · from $2.99/mo
For: Most people
Structured lays out the day on one color-coded timeline. The free version covers the timeline, an inbox for unscheduled tasks, subtasks, notes, notifications, widgets and sync, and it runs on iPhone, Android, Mac and the web, with an Apple Watch app. Structured Pro adds calendar import, recurring tasks and an AI planning assistant; the US App Store lists it at $9.99 to $39.99 a year, or $99.99 once. Its iPhone and iPad app averages 4.8 from about 167,000 ratings. Know the limits: calendar events need Pro, there is no Windows app, the web version does not yet have every feature of the mobile apps, and the vendor publishes no price list, so the price depends on your region.
The Structured Insider’s Guide2nd
2.8GPARoutine
Free plan · from $5/mo
For: Anyone on Windows or Linux, or who wants calendars on a free plan
Routine keeps tasks, calendar and notes in one app, with a planner view for the day and an inbox that collects tasks and messages from connected apps such as Gmail, Slack and Asana. It runs on the web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android, and its Free plan includes tasks, calendars, notes, an AI assistant, offline mode and 3 integrations. It is second because time blocking is not in the Free plan: it starts with Personal at $5 a month, billed yearly. Routine's download page also says the web app is 30% slower than the desktop apps and lacks some functionality, and the Free plan stops at 3 custom databases and 250 AI credits.
The Routine Insider’s Guide3rd
2.6GPAFlowSavvy
Free plan · from $10/mo
For: People who want tasks placed on the calendar for them
FlowSavvy places tasks into free time on your calendar, working back from each task's due date and duration, and rebuilds the schedule when an event changes or a task is missed. The free Basic plan schedules up to 2 weeks ahead with unlimited reschedules and two-way sync with Google Calendar, Outlook.com and iCloud. Pro is $10 a month, billed yearly, and schedules 8 weeks ahead. Its iPhone and iPad app averages 4.8 from about 430 ratings. It is third because it is narrower than the two above: it runs on the web, iPhone and Android with no native desktop app, it is aimed at individuals with no team features, and Basic stops at 3 repeating auto-scheduled tasks and 5 task lists.

Keep or make?
Which are worth paying for, and which you could make yourself
1
