How we grade them

2.4GPADayliteFair3.0GPAInsightlyVery good
Value for money
CLeap is $15 a month on yearly billing, but that's one user with 500 contacts and 10 active opportunities. Teams start on Growth at $30 a user, above the $23 or so that's typical here, and it still stops at 100 active opportunities. Unlimited is Scale at $45.
CPlus is $29 a user a month, over the $23 or so that's typical, and the pricing page only shows annual billing. Workflow automation, lead routing and the AI Copilot need Professional at $49. Quotes and price books need Enterprise at $99.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan. The 14-day trial opens up all of Daylite and doesn't ask for a card. After that the cheapest way in is $15 a month, paid for the year.
CThe pricing page lists no free plan. There's a 14-day trial with no card needed. After that the only prices shown are for a year at a time.
Features
BLinked contact history, a Kanban board for opportunities with estimates, projects, email read inside the app, shared calendars and tasks. That's a CRM and a project tool in one. But pipelines are rationed, 1 on Leap, 3 on Growth and 10 on Scale, and so are active deals and projects.
ALead and opportunity pipelines, projects made from won deals, workflow automation, advanced reports and dashboards, an AI Copilot, and sidebars for Gmail and Outlook. That's sales and delivery in one. Marketing automation and support ticketing are sold as separate products.
Ease of use
B4.44 from about 440 App Store ratings, a B on our ladder. Growth and Scale include onboarding. Leap gets email-only support, with replies that can take 2 business days.
BThere's no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is our ceiling. The Gmail and Outlook sidebars let you add leads from your inbox, and the phone apps scan business cards and take voice notes.
Platforms and integrations
CMac, iPhone and iPad, and nothing else. Marketcircle lists no web, Windows or Android version. Inside the Apple world it does well: mail from iCloud, Gmail, Office 365 or any IMAP account, video links from Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, and an API.
AWeb, iPhone and Android, with sidebars for Gmail and Outlook. It connects to Slack, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Shopify, Jira and Calendly, and there's an API.

Key features

Daylite

Linked contact history
People and companies each have an Activity View: one timeline of every linked email, meeting, task, note, opportunity and project for that relationship.
Opportunities Board
A Kanban-style board moves sales opportunities through customizable stages, with estimates built from saved products and services. Leap has 1 pipeline, Growth 3 and Scale 10.
Projects
Client work is tracked as projects with their own board, pipelines, linked tasks and appointments. Active projects are capped at 10 on Leap and 100 on Growth.
Mail in Daylite
Accounts from iCloud, Gmail, Office 365 or any IMAP service are read inside Daylite, where messages link automatically to contacts, opportunities and projects.
Shared calendar and tasks
Appointments, group meetings with agendas, resource scheduling and tasks are shared across the team, with video links from Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
Offline sync on Apple devices
Data syncs across Mac, iPhone and iPad, and the apps keep working without an internet connection, sending changes once the device is back online.

Insightly

Pipelines and lead management
Leads are captured, prioritized and distributed by criteria, and opportunities move through customizable pipelines. Lead assignment and routing start at Professional.
Projects from won deals
A won opportunity can be converted into a project and delivered with pipelines, milestones and tasks, so work after the sale stays in the same system.
Workflow automation
Automation takes over repetitive steps such as emails, reminders and onboarding tasks. Workflow automation is listed as a Professional plan feature.
Dashboards and reports
Advanced reports and pre-built business dashboards are included from the Plus plan, with customizable KPIs and dashboards that can be shared with the team.
AI Copilot
Copilot automates tasks, summarizes records and surfaces information from plain-language prompts. It is included from the Professional plan.
Email sidebars and mobile apps
Sidebars for Gmail and Outlook show and create leads and contacts from the inbox. The iOS and Android apps add business card scanning and voice notes.
