How we grade them

3.0GPAAsanaVery good2.2GPASuccess.coFair
Value for money
CStarter is $10.99 a user a month billed annually, or $13.49 monthly, a shade above the $10 dear quarter here and well past the $8 middle. Seats come in fixed blocks of 5 once you pass 5 people, and goals, portfolios and time tracking need Advanced at $24.99.
CGraded against its own alternatives, as it runs EOS rather than projects. All Inclusive is $11 a user a month billed yearly ($12 monthly) for the first 25, about Asana's $10.99 and above Range's $8. It drops to $10 a head from user 26 and $6 at 251 and up.
Free plan and trial
BThe Personal plan is free with unlimited tasks and projects, list, board and calendar views and 100-plus integrations, which one person can genuinely live on. It stops at 2 users, so a team can't.
CFree Forever covers the V/TO, Accountability Chart and Organizational Checkup with no time limit. Rocks, scorecards and meetings, the weekly bits, need paying for. There's a 30-day trial of everything with no card.
Features
BThe whole job: list, board, calendar, timeline and Gantt views of the same tasks, rules that automate routine steps, forms that turn requests into tasks, dashboards, workload, and AI Studio on a credit pool. Goals, portfolios, approvals and time tracking are Advanced-only, which the listing says plainly.
CIt does the EOS job fully: Rocks, scorecards, Level 10 meetings with AI summaries, issues, to-dos, processes and two-way to-do sync with Asana, ClickUp and monday.com. But it's a smaller job than project management, and its own notes say it isn't a general PM tool.
Ease of use
B4.67 from about 15,700 App Store ratings, a hair under the 4.7 an A needs. The same project can be a list, a board or a calendar, so each person picks the view that suits them.
CNo store rating on record. If you already run EOS the screens will look familiar, but there's still the vision, chart, Rocks and scorecard numbers to put in before the first meeting.
Platforms and integrations
AWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with Slack, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Jira Cloud, GitHub, Zoom and Figma among 100-plus integrations and a public API. No Linux app on the download page.
BWeb, iPhone and Android, working offline, with Google Calendar, Outlook, Slack, Teams, Asana, ClickUp, monday.com and Zapier, plus Claude and ChatGPT connectors. No desktop app, which keeps it off an A.

Key features

Asana

Project views
Show a project as a list, board, calendar, timeline or Gantt chart. Timeline and Gantt views start on the Starter plan.
Rules and forms
Rules automate routine steps and forms turn incoming requests into tasks. Both start on Starter; form branching needs Advanced.
Goals and portfolios
Goals link projects and tasks to company-level objectives, and portfolios track groups of related projects in one place. Both are part of the Advanced plan.
Workload and resource management
Shows how much work each person has so tasks can be rebalanced. Capacity planning across the organization is an Enterprise feature.
Reporting dashboards
Charts built from live project data to show the state of a team's work, included from the Starter plan.
AI Teammates and AI Studio
AI Studio builds AI-driven workflows from a monthly credit pool: 50K credits on Starter, 75K on Advanced and 200K on Enterprise. Extra AI requests are billed per request.

Success.co

V/TO and Accountability Chart
Write down the company vision on a Vision/Traction Organizer and map roles and seats on an Accountability Chart; both are on the free plan.
Rocks and scorecards
Set 90-day priorities, called Rocks, with AI help drafting them, and track scorecard numbers, which can be imported and exported.
Level 10 meetings
Runs Level 10 and other EOS meetings with Issues, To-Dos and Headlines on one agenda, and writes AI meeting summaries.
Processes
Document a company's core processes so teams can share and follow them, the last of the EOS components the app covers.
Two-way integrations
Syncs To-Dos both ways with Asana, ClickUp, monday.com and Teamwork.com, meetings with Google and Outlook calendars, and works with Slack and Teams.
Offline use and AI assistants
Data syncs to the device so the app keeps working offline. Claude and ChatGPT connectors can answer questions about Rocks or add Issues.
