Worth knowing
GanttPRO
- There is no free plan: a subscription is needed after the 14-day trial, and single-user accounts are sold on annual billing only.
- Workload, portfolio view, time tracking, budgets, reports, the Jira Cloud integration and the API all need the Business plan.
- SAML SSO and custom roles need Enterprise, which requires at least 5 users and an annual subscription.
- Storage is 1 GB per user on Core, Advanced and Business. Data cannot be edited offline.
Smartsheet
- There is no free plan; a paid plan is needed once the 30-day trial ends.
- Pro is limited to 10 Members and is only available to new customers; Business requires at least 3 Members.
- Pro is capped at 250 automations a month and 20 GB of storage.
- The API is offered from the Business plan, and SAML single sign-on needs Enterprise.

- Tasks are linked by dependencies and rescheduled automatically when dates change. Critical path, baselines, milestones and deadlines are included on every plan.
- Board, list and dashboard views
- A project can be switched from the Gantt chart to a Kanban-style board, a list or a dashboard on any plan. Calendar view starts on Advanced, portfolio and workload views on Business.
- Workload and budgets
- The Business plan shows each person's workload so work can be reallocated, and adds resource calendars, cost estimation and budget planning.
- Time logs and reports
- On Business and Enterprise, people log actual time on tasks, and owners and admins build reports on logged time that can be grouped, filtered and exported to Excel.
- AI Gantt chart maker
- An AI tool that drafts a Gantt chart is included in all four plans, according to the pricing page.
- Sharing and export
- A private link shares a live or static view of the chart with people outside the team, and charts export to PDF, PNG, XLSX and XML.
Smartsheet
- Sheets with multiple views
- Work is stored in spreadsheet-like sheets that can be switched between grid, Gantt, card and calendar views. Timeline view starts on the Business plan.
- Reports and dashboards
