Value for money
BStarter is $7 a scheduled person a month billed annually, or $8.50 monthly, which is about typical for this category. You only pay for people you schedule, and those who just need to see the plan join free as guests. Time tracking and cost estimates need Pro at $12.
CThe cheapest combination is $17 per user a month billed annually, $20 monthly, and that's only time tracking and invoicing. Tasks, projects, time and resourcing together are $29, and all eight apps are $57. With a 5-user minimum on top, it's well above what project tools usually cost.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan. You get a 30-day free trial of the Pro plan with no credit card required, and Float says it keeps trial data for 6 months. After that it's a paid plan or nothing.
CThere's no free plan. You get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and then every combination needs at least 5 paid seats.
Features
AIt does one job, scheduling people, and does it fully: hours or percentages on projects, time off, holiday calendars, roles and skills, project phases, budgets and utilization reports. Placeholders stand in for planned hires. Timesheets and expenses come with Pro.
AEight apps on one set of data: tasks with a Kanban board, projects with a Gantt chart and dependencies, time tracking, resource bookings, sales, quotes with margin planning, expenses and invoicing. There's an AI assistant called ELI, an API and an MCP server as well.
Ease of use
A4.7 from about 430 App Store ratings. That's not many ratings next to the big project tools, but it's a high score. Timesheets on Pro come prefilled from the schedule, which saves the typing.
CNo app rating on record, and there's a fair bit to set up: you choose which of the eight apps to buy before you start. Self-onboarding is free only for teams of up to 15. Bigger ones are pointed to onboarding packages run by Scoro's experts.
Platforms and integrations
AWeb, iPhone and Android, with no desktop app listed. Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Slack, Zapier and API access are on every plan, and a Float MCP connector for Claude is in beta.
AWeb, iPhone and Android. It connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Google Calendar and Zapier, and both platforms come with an API and an MCP server. Some integrations cost extra, mind.

Float

  • Agencies and services firms scheduling people across client projects
  • Resource managers who need capacity and utilization in one view

Worth knowing

Float

  • Time tracking, project cost estimates, expenses, SSO and team-enforced 2FA all need the Pro plan.
  • Starter keeps the activity feed for 7 days, includes 1 placeholder and limits saved filtered views to personal ones.
  • The download page offers iOS and Android apps only; no desktop app is listed.

Scoro

  • There is no free plan, and every combination requires at least 5 user seats.
  • The per-user price rises with each app added, from $17 for two apps to $57 for the End-to-end combination, and some add-ons and integrations cost extra.
  • Single sign-on and SCIM user provisioning are only on the Enterprise platform, not the Standard one.
  • Free self-onboarding is offered only to teams of up to 15 people; larger teams are directed to onboarding packages run by Scoro's experts.
