| Value for money | AStartup is a flat $9.96 a month billed annually, with 2 timesheet users, 20 active projects and 50 invoices a month. Project collaborators are unlimited and free. Extra timesheet users are $7 a month each, still a bit under what's typical per user here. | CThe cheapest combination is $17 per user a month billed annually, $20 monthly, and that's only time tracking and invoicing. Tasks, projects, time and resourcing together are $29, and all eight apps are $57. With a 5-user minimum on top, it's well above what project tools usually cost. |
| Free plan and trial | BThe Free plan has unlimited project collaborators and 5 active projects. But only 1 user can log time, it stops at 10 customers and 5 invoices and bills a month, and storage is 100 MB. Enough for a freelancer with a few clients. | CThere's no free plan. You get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and then every combination needs at least 5 paid seats. |
| Features | ATasks as lists, kanban boards or Gantt charts, a drag-and-drop schedule that shows who's over capacity, timers and timesheets, expenses, quotes, and invoices that can be paid online. Team chat is in there too. Projects through to getting paid. | AEight apps on one set of data: tasks with a Kanban board, projects with a Gantt chart and dependencies, time tracking, resource bookings, sales, quotes with margin planning, expenses and invoicing. There's an AI assistant called ELI, an API and an MCP server as well. |
| Ease of use | BWe have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. It's a web app with no software to install. Picking a plan takes a minute, since each one counts users separately for timesheets, admin, scheduling and chat. | CNo app rating on record, and there's a fair bit to set up: you choose which of the eight apps to buy before you start. Self-onboarding is free only for teams of up to 15. Bigger ones are pointed to onboarding packages run by Scoro's experts. |
| Platforms and integrations | BIt's a responsive web app, and the iOS and Android apps are for time tracking only. It does connect to Xero, QuickBooks, Stripe, Slack, Zapier, Google Drive and Jira, and there's a public API. The limited phone apps keep it at a B. | AWeb, iPhone and Android. It connects to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Google Calendar and Zapier, and both platforms come with an API and an MCP server. Some integrations cost extra, mind. |
| Best for | projects, timesheets and invoices in one place | service firms that quote, deliver and bill in one |

Key features
Avaza
- Tasks in lists, boards and Gantt charts
- Tasks carry priorities, deadlines and assignees and can be viewed as a list, a kanban board or a Gantt chart, grouped by project, assignee or priority.
- Resource scheduling
- A drag-and-drop schedule books people onto projects, with an availability bar that shows who is under or over capacity. Leave and public holidays can be added.
- Timesheets and timers
- Time is logged with a start-stop timer or entered by day or week, marked billable or not, and compared with task estimates. Customers can approve timesheets.
- Quotes and invoicing
- Estimates can be converted into projects or invoices, and uninvoiced time, expenses and fixed amounts are pulled onto an invoice that can be paid online.
- Expense tracking
- Staff record expenses in the browser or the mobile apps, or email a photo of a receipt to Avaza, and link each one to a project or client.
- Team chat
- Channels and direct chats for team members, with external contacts able to chat at no charge. Each plan includes 5 team members with chat access.
