How we grade them

2.8GPAInfinityGood3.0GPAmonday.comVery good
Value for money
BBasic is $6 a user a month billed yearly, or $8 monthly, a bit under typical. But it has no Gantt, chart or form views. Pro has every feature for $9, about typical. Past 15 members it's the flat Unlimited plan at $112 a month billed annually, however many of you there are.
CBasic is $9 a seat but has no automations, integrations or timeline, so most teams land on Standard at $12. ClickUp gives you Gantt charts and time tracking for $7.
Free plan and trial
FNothing is free. No free plan or free trial is listed. What you get is a 14-day money-back guarantee on purchases, which isn't the same as trying it first.
CTwo seats, three boards, three docs, and no automations. Fine for one freelancer with a few clients, no good for a team. There is a 14-day trial of Pro.
Features
AThe same items shown as a table, columns, list, calendar, document, Gantt chart, chart or form. Six levels of structure, with unlimited boards, folders, tabs and items on every plan. Add custom attributes, automations with webhooks, and an AI that drafts a board from a prompt.
ABoards, timelines, Gantt charts, dashboards, docs, forms, automations, time tracking and a pile of AI helpers. There's very little you can't bend it into.
Ease of use
BThere's no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. You design the structure yourself, which takes some thought. The built-in AI can turn a rough idea into an organised board to get you going.
A4.8 from about 48,000 App Store ratings. A diesel repair shop and a couple doing up a 1976 house both say it just made sense. There are 200+ templates to start from.
Platforms and integrations
AWeb, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android. It connects through Zapier, Make, Integrately and Pabbly, links to Google Drive and Trello, and its automations can call webhooks.
BWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with an API and 850+ integrations and apps. No Linux app, and reviewers say the phone app can't do all the website can.

  • Agencies that want to offer clients a white-labeled workspace

monday.com

Worth knowing

Infinity

  • No free plan or free trial is listed; purchases come with a 14-day money-back guarantee instead.
  • Basic and Pro stop at 15 members, so larger teams have to move to the flat-rate Unlimited plan.
  • Gantt, chart and form views, formula fields and recurring items are not in Basic.
  • Basic, Pro and Unlimited include a single workspace; the help center says more workspaces mean buying an additional plan.

monday.com

  • The Free plan is limited to 2 seats, 3 boards and 3 docs.
  • Paid plans start at 3 seats, and the price is set by the team size selected rather than by individual seats.
  • Timeline, Gantt and calendar views, automations and integrations start on Standard; time tracking and private boards need Pro.
  • Plan totals itemize the bundled AI credits at $10 per 1,000 a month, currently cancelled out by a "special offer" discount of the same amount.
